🚀 Quick Start
🎯 Guide Objectives:Within 30 minutes, complete the system deployment and firmware flashing of the Fly-Gemini motherboard, bringing it to a state where it can connect to Klipper and perform basic tests.
✅ Completion Marker:Access the Klipper interface via a web browser and successfully connect to the Fly-Gemini motherboard.
- 📦 Required Accessories: The Fly-Gemini must be used with a Fly-M2WE or TF card, otherwise the system will not boot.
- ⚡ Power requirements: Input voltage range is 12V-24V. Do not exceed this range.
- 🔌 Safe Operation: When flashing firmware on the Before performing any wiring operations, be sure to disconnect the power supply!, also follow the instructions in the guide.
- 🔧 Tool Preparation: Prepare basic tools such as screwdrivers and data cables in advance.
📦 Step 1: Prepare Tools and Resources
📝 Included Contents
MobaXterm(used to connect to the host computer)CH340(serial port driver used for system connection)Panasonic_SDFormatter(used to format TF card)SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer(used to flash the firmware of the lower computer)
🖥️ Step 2: Install the system and perform basic configuration
1. System Image Flashing
2. Basic System Configuration
3. Network and Remote Connection
4. Display Device Configuration
📝 Instructions for this step
- Before flashing the image, confirm that the TF card or M2WE has been properly formatted
- The first system boot may take 3-5 minutes, please be patient
- Default username for SSH connection: root, password: mellow
- Screen configuration is only required on devices with a display
🔌 Step 3: Flashing Firmware and Device Identification
Why is this step needed? The previous step was to install the operating system for the host computer (compute module). This step is to flash Klipper firmware for the lower computer (the Fly-Gemini control board itself). Both must be paired to work.
1. Firmware Description and DIP Switch Selection
2. Flash USB Firmware or CAN Bridge Firmware
- Choose and flash the corresponding firmware based on your connection method
📝 Notes for This Step
When flashing firmware, make sure the DIP switches on the mainboard are set to the correct position, otherwise the device will not be recognized
- The device ID is required information in the Klipper configuration, so be sure to obtain it correctly
- If flashing fails, try restoring the Bootloader before flashing the main firmware
🛠️ Step 4: Hardware Connection and Interface Configuration
Before starting, completely shut down the printer and disconnect the power supply. Do not plug or unplug wiring harnesses, organize interface cabling, or touch terminals while the power is on.
1. Basic Hardware Connection
2. Klipper Reference Configuration
3. External Driver Connection and Configuration (Optional Feature)
4. Motherboard Precautions
📝 Instructions for this step
- Strongly recommended: Before any wiring operation, ensure that the power supply is completely disconnected
- Please make sure the power polarity is correct; reverse connection may damage the mainboard
- Refer to your printer frame diagram for the motor wiring sequence
- Check the temperature sensor connection before heating the heated bed and hot end
📈 Step 5: Extended Features and Advanced Configuration (Optional)
The following features can be configured gradually as needed after completing the basic setup and ensuring the printer operates normally:
📝 Extended Features and Advanced Configuration
Camera Usage
External Tool Board
Resource Downloads
- It is recommended to configure and test extended features one by one to avoid changing too many parameters at once
- Camera configuration requires additional USB camera device support
- Resonance compensation requires an accelerometer sensor
- Tool board connection is applicable to multi-tool-head 3D printers
